Paying your entry fee
What you owe is computed at registration — the fee preview already includes any discounts, title exemptions or late surcharge. How you pay depends on the tournament.
How to pay
- Online payment — when the organizer has connected an online payment provider, your registration shows a Pay now button that takes you to the payment page.
- Bank transfer or on-site — otherwise, the confirmation page shows the organizer's Payment Instructions (typically an IBAN and a reference to mention, or "pay at the venue").
Payment status
Your registration carries a payment status alongside the registration status:
- Unpaid — nothing received yet.
- Paid — settled; nothing more to do.
- Partial — part of the amount received.
- Waived — the organizer decided no payment is due (e.g. titled players).
- Refunded — the fee was returned, typically after a cancellation.
The status is updated by the organizer as payments arrive — bank transfers can take a day or two to be marked.
Tip: Paying by transfer? Mention the player's name and the tournament in the payment reference — it's the difference between being marked paid immediately and a mystery line in the organizer's bank statement.
Questions about a payment
Refunds after cancellation and payment disputes are handled by the tournament organizer, not by Chesstide — their contact details are on the tournament page.
