Staff and arbiter access

Tournament staff records who officiates your event — and it's what ends up in the FIDE report. Access to the cockpit itself is a separate matter, covered below.

Recording tournament staff

In the cockpit's Configuration tab, the Tournament Staff section lists your officials with their role and FIDE/national IDs. Three roles exist:

• Chief Arbiter — exactly one per tournament.
• Deputy Arbiter — as many as you need.
• Organizer — as many as you need.

Click Add Staff Member, pick the role, and search for the person by name or FIDE/federation ID. If they're not found, use Create new to add them with their name and identifiers. Remove staff with the trash icon.

Who can use the cockpit

Being listed as staff does not by itself grant access to manage the tournament in Chesstide. The cockpit is available to:

• the tournament's creator,
• administrators of the organization the tournament belongs to,
• Chesstide administrators.

So to give your arbiter working access, add their Chesstide account as an administrator of your organization (see Managing your organization) — and record them as Chief Arbiter in the staff list so the paperwork is right too.

Tip: The two lists answer different questions: staff answers "who officiated?" (for players and FIDE), organization administrators answers "who can click the buttons?".
